Hi, its John Lane from TaxSaleLists.com…if you do know about taxsalelists.com we are the website that has provided tax sale lists, over 10,000 a year, for the past eleven year and also provide the only tax sale training done by somebody who has been a major buyer of tax liens (over 77,000 tax sale properties acquired over the past 20 years).

We get this question more than any other…it is like people think there is some super secret best place to go.
Unfortunately, that is not the case…why is that true?
Because every individual has different goals, pocket books, time availability and geographic factors.

Because of these different factors you have to determine what is the best place for you to invest.
It may be your local town, or it could be an internet sale on the other side of the country.
There are numerous factors used to determine what is the best place for you.

The first rule is to keep “acquisition cost” (the cost of doing the due diligence, going to the sale, transportation, hotels, meals, etc) below 5% of what you have to invest.
If you live in Seattle and have $5,000 to invest then you can’t really go to a sale in Iowa where you have to attend because the cost of getting there, doing your homework, feeding yourself, and having a place to stay will cost you more than $250.00 or 5% of what you have to invest.

On the other hand if you live across the river in Illinois from Iowa and you stay at home each night…it could be a great place to go.

To sum it all up.

The best place for you to go to tax sales is going to depend on a number of factors that are unique to you. They include how much you have to invest, how much time you have available, where you live, what your goals are and numerous other factors. We spend a whole night in our training class on where to go and what is best for you.

If you would like to learn more about tax sales, we regularly hold a free webinar about tax sales that will answer all your questions about tax sales.
